Day 1 in Local Business School is all about meeting other students, getting acquainted with the program structure, and diving into mindset. This is where we get to learn more about you and your business, where you are right now and where you want to be in six weeks, so that we can help you get there.

Brand Building Bootcamp

October 5th at 1:30 P.M. CST

In just a few short hours, we'll cover everything you need to know to hone in on your unique brand voice and what differentiates you in your local market. We'll dive into topics like your ideal customer, brand messaging, your position in the market and your customer experience.

Coaching & Support

October 7th at 4:00 P.M. CST

Each week you'll be able to join a coaching call with Emily and the team to ask specific questions about your business and what you're working on and get expert feedback and guidance. You'll also be able to connect with fellow students and make new friends in the local business community.

WEEK 2

Copywriting for Local Business Owners

October 12th at 1:30 P.M. CST

Join copywriting expert, Sarah Stricker, from the Local Type, to learn all about how to write content for your local business. She'll cover strategies and tweaks you can make to your website as well as social media posts to help you create more captivating, engaging words that resonate with your ideal customers.

WEEK 3

Local SEO 101

October 19th at 1:30 P.M. CST

Join SEO expert, Andi Fagen, from Creative DSM, to learn the basics you need to know about SEO (search engine optimization) for your local business. You'll learn tactics to increase your rankings on search engines like Google and make your business more discoverable by people in your city.

WEEK 4

Content Creation

October 26th at 1:30 P.M. CST

Join content creation expert, Mel Guanci, from In2ItSocial, to learn how to stop feeling overwhelmed by the thought of creating content and instead create posts that will move the needle in your business. You'll learn an efficient way to build a content calendar and how to craft meaningful social media posts that also drive revenue and foster new connections.

After a few weeks getting the foundations set for your business, you're ready to put what you've learned into action by creating a holistic business strategy that positions you for short-term and long-term growth. Learn how to plan for and measure growth goals and create a strategy that matches where you want to go next and how you like to show up in the world, not another competitor in your industry.

WEEK 5

Personal Branding

November 2nd at 1:30 P.M. CST

Join personal branding expert, Whitney Warne, to learn how to finally show up online as the face behind your business. Learn strategies and tips to make it feel less awkward and more natural along with ideas of ways both product and service-based businesses can humanize their brands. You'll also learn how to create boundaries and how to uplift others in your community with your digital presence.

WEEK 6

Social for Local

November 8th at 1:30 P.M. CST

Stop spinning your wheels staring at your feed and finally learn strategies to make social media work for you. Discover which platforms you should be spending your time on as a local business owner and which you shouldn't. Learn how to engage your customers, create posts that have strong CTA's (call to action) and develop campaigns that'll give you a strong influx of cash into your business.

Final Celebration!

November 11th at 4:00 P.M. CST

You'll wrap up your time in Local Business School with a celebration party! Join Emily, the team, and fellow students to reflect on how much you've grown and get excited for where your business is headed next.
